With the Kovid boom in the country all the programs had to be conducted in a virtual manner. Doubts arose as to how Parliament would proceed in this context. This time, however, the meetings will be held in two installments. Will start from January 31st. The first tranche of budget meetings will be held from today until February 11. On the first day, President Ramnath Kovind will address the joint sittings of Parliament. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget in the House on February 1. The second tranche of budget meetings will be held from March 14 to April 8. Sanitation and other arrangements are in full swing in Parliament for the conduct of budget meetings. The arrangements were examined by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. On this occasion, he directed the authorities to pay special attention to the MPs above 60 years of age and take action without any difficulty to them. He said all arrangements were being made in Parliament for budget meetings. Kovid was recently confirmed positive by a staff of 400 in Parliament. The cases came to light between January 4 and 8. In Parliament, 1409 staff were tested and 402 tested positive. Of those confirmed positive, 200 were Lok Sabha staff, 69 were Rajya Sabha staff and 133 were allied staff, officials said. Some people who have been in contact with them are in isolation.
